Lusaka and Solwezi Sisters Training

Part of TAKUZA’s responsibility to train its members majority of whom are Religious Sisters from various Women Congregations in Human Trafficking. From 3-7 May, 2023 TAKUZA trained 34 Sisters in Lusaka and 35 sisters from Solwezi on 17th October, 2023. The objective of the training was to buildĀ  capacity of the participants with information of human trafficking, to better equip them to raise awareness in their various districts with the ultimate goal of reducing their community’s vulnerability to trafficking.

Lusaka and Copperbelt serve as destination and source towns, with Solwezi beingĀ  highlighted in official reports as a place where children, especially boys are exploited in the mines that operate in the district. It was therefore important that communities have the information and tools to reduce vulnerability to trafficking.
