LUSAKA AND SOLWEZI WORKSHOPS

As TAKUZA is a Network Organization, it is its responsibility to train its members who are mostly sisters from various Women Congregations. From 3-7 May, TAKUZA trained 34 Sisters in Lusaka in Human Trafficking while 35 sisters were trained in the same in Solwezi on 17th October. The objective of the training was capacity-building of the participants with information of human trafficking so that they are able to raise awareness in their various districts to reduce vulnerability to trafficking.

Lusaka and towns on the Copperbelt serve as destination and source towns and Solwezi is highlighted in official reports as a place where children, especially boys are exploited in the mines that operate in the district. It was therefore important that communities have the information to reduce vulnerability to trafficking.
