Commemorating the Feast of St. Josephine Bakhita & the International Day of Prayer and Awareness Against Human Trafficking

On February 7th and 8th, we came together to honor St. Josephine Bakhita, the patron saint of victims of human trafficking, and to mark the International Day of Prayer and Awareness Against Human Trafficking (IDPAHT).

The Candlelight Service on the 7th, held at the Catholic Secretariat, Kapingila Guest House, streamed live with Lumen TV, was a solemn moment of prayer and reflection, remembering victims and survivors of human trafficking.

On the 8th, our Art Festival at St. Lawrence Parish showcased powerful drama and poetry from youth groups in Msisi Compound and Kamwala South, raising awareness on human trafficking under this year’s theme: “Ambassadors of Hope: Together Against Human Trafficking.”

Through prayer, art, and community action, we continue to shine a light on the realities of human trafficking and commit to being Ambassadors of Hope.
